The library was their sanctuary. Abhi sat with his integration problems, while Maya pored over diagrams of the human heart.

"You know," Abhi whispered, sliding a notebook toward her. "I finally figured out our relationship. It’s like a non-terminating decimal. It just goes on forever without a repeating pattern."

Maya smirked, pushing her glasses up. "That’s sweet, Abhi, but a bit cold. I prefer to think of us as a symbiotic relationship. I provide the soul, and you provide the structure. Without me, you’re just a bunch of numbers. Without you, I’m just a chaotic mess of cells."

"Is that the 'Biology' talking?" he teased.

"It’s the truth," she replied, her voice dropping to a soft, more intimate tone. "Think about the adrenaline spike when I see you in the hallway. That isn't math, Abhi. That’s a chemical reaction that defies every formula you’ve ever learned."

Abhi leaned in closer, his breath hitching. "Maybe. But I can calculate the exact force it takes to pull you closer."

He reached under the table, his hand finding hers. The playfulness vanished, replaced by a heavy, magnetic tension. "Sometimes," he murmured, "I want to stop calculating and just let the variables take over."

Maya squeezed his hand, her eyes dark and focused. "The human body has 206 bones, Abhi. But right now, the only thing I’m feeling is the electrical impulse running from my palm to my chest because of you. That’s a high-voltage conversation your physics book didn't prepare you for."

"Then let's skip the theory," Abhi whispered, "and move straight to the practical."
